Death Becomes Her

Today I write because my Wifes Mother died last Thursday.  Dawn Peters, age 65, collapsed and died on Thursday Feb 7th around 4:30pm.  Today we are getting the family together at Eagle Hall in Boyne City,Mi.  Dawn had three daughters,Carol(my wife),Sharon, and Jane.  Even though Carol didn't like having to take care of her Mom, because she was very difficult to handle sometimes, she did it anyway.  Carol is real upset of her lost and has many mixed emotions.  It's not easy losing someone especially a mother, even if they didn't get along well together.  I don't have any pictures of Dawn to put up.  If I had a picture I would like to put one up when she wasn't dealing with living with crones disease .  I would like to put a picture of her when she was more there mentally.  I never knew Dawn until after she had her strokes, three of them.  Strokes and the Crones disease does takes it toll on a person.  Now she doesn't have to worry about the pain and doesn't have to fake being someone important,  in heaven everyone is import and no one has any pains

Happy Thanksgiving

This holiday season should be a time when family gets together and celebrates what they are thankful for.  I'm thankful for a big plate to hold all my turkey:).

Lizzie had a big night last night!!!!

For everyone who wasn't there and didn't see, Lizzie was tested for and passed her 1st Dan Black Belt Test. She did an awesome job of it too and impressed everyone with her great smile after smile while she did her techniques. For a partner she had her Dad to throw around.

1st Dan in Hapkido

This weekend was awesome in every way. I was nervous in waiting for it to come about but after 4 hours of testing at World Martial Arts in Fenton Mi the 5 of us from Northern Martial Arts in Charlevoix passed our Black belt test. Richard and Rachel Christener, Spensor Bruce, Jake Waterman, and myself (Steve Sutton). The hardest part I think was trying not be be nervous. Now I can work on helping Lizzie with her requirements for black belt as she has just earned her Cho Dan Bo Rank. Boy this is getting real exciting. Soon We'll be a family of black belts. I can't wait until my children earn their black belts. I'm so proud of them for all the effort that they put into Hapkido.
