Happy New Year
James: Has made it through the first half of his 6th grade. He has brought up his grades and managed to get three A's. This year for christmas we got him a computer program that creates comic books. He might need to get a tablet for drawing as I haven't figured out the scanning ting all too well. He also made red belt in hapkido.
Lizzie: Has started playing in the band at Concord and choose to play the clarinet. She made it two brown belt in hapkido and is looking forward to getting her cho dan bo belt.
Tina: Is growing so fast she outgrowing her clothes and is becoming so talkative , like her sister. She made it to red belt this year, in hapkido.
Steve: Has made it to cho dan bo belt and improved his health by getting into shape. No if I don't eat too much for the holidays and blow it all, I should be fine.
Carol: Will be arranging it so on fridays that she has it off. This will be very nice. In fact she has the first week off of the year, and so do I. That will be very nice.

We had lot of fun on our vacation. Even though we didn't have lots of money to really go out and do a whole lot but we did manage to go to Michigan Adventure. This time going I watched Tina and James and made sure that Carol got to go on lots of rides. Tina and James spent lots of time in the lazy river. and I got a nice sunburn to take home as a reminder of my good times. All in all everyone had a great time there.

I'm now on vacation. My family and I are all on vacation. The kids have the summer off as usual and Carol and I have a week together. Amiss all the hubbub of the modern society and the fast pace of things, we manage to get sometime together and try to slow down life for the few day we have of peace. We spent the afternoon yesterday out at the campsite. Carol had me cutting up some logs. My chainsaw isn't working correctly, the pull cord stuck and I had to take it apart. When I did I took out a adjustment screw that probably was a mistake and now I'm trying to readjust it again. The chainsaw blade is dull and that make cutting real difficult. Carol was laughing at me and said she knew someone who could help me with that. tonight looks like a good night to go camp all night. Enjoy the peace that be and never forget to stop once and a while and smell the roses.

It is that time of year again in Charlevoix, and the annual Charlevoix Venetian Festival is in full swing. We went last night, which was kids day and Lizzy got a arm band so she could go on the rides as much as possible. I bought 30 more tickets for the other two. Carol even came along. We stopped in at Subway and got something for dinner. Met George there with the boys. Sherri was working. Also met up with Mr. Bruce, our HapKiDo instructor. He let us know about the band starting up at 9:30 by the band shell. Andrew and Lizzy went on the drop of death ride and I went with them to see how scary it was. You go up like 100 feet and when you reach the top the latches holding the seats lets loose and you free fall to the bottom where in the last five feet you coast to a stop. It was quite the feeling to be up there looking out across Charlevoix seeing everything from above then suddenly you bake down again. We missed the band that was playing and Tina was saying her feet hurt because of her sandals so at 9:30pm we took off and went back home.
