So last night Lizzy said she wasn't feeling very good. No fever but said she was vomiting during the night. Tina woke up not feeling very well either. Evidently there's a Noro Virus going around our school and over 50 people were sick.

Tail of an Angry Dog.

Hey check out my teeth!!!
This time I'm writing about our little friend Shadow. Shadow has some issues.  We really didn't understand when or why it was happening. But it seems we have raised a very stressed out dog. As you can see in our first photo the dog has an attitude. Did you know that if a dog has not seen several people and other animals before they reach 12 months old they will never be socialized. Nature shuts down this socializing by 12 months. We had this dog after that period and couldn't do anything about that. But what we can do is help him out and get him back on the right track. As most mad angry dogs, Shadow suffers from anxiety. Before we went to a dog trainer we let him eat whenever he wanted to, he was up on furniture when he wants and sits above other family members. Now Shadow has been demoted as the guardian of the family, and has to work at getting affection, getting attention. Three things hopefully will help out with this transformation. One a "Gentle Leader", "Thunder Shirt", and "Quiet Moments". Now I'm sure that there's a lot of people saying why spend so much time on a dog. But I'll say this, we're not just here on earth to kill things we're given the responsibility to take care of other animals. Dogs have been domesticated for hundreds of years from the Wolf. Our little wolf Shadow will be a better dog if we teach him that we're the leader. He's just too stressed out to be the leader. He much rather have someone else be in charge and tell him what, when, and why of things.
I love my bear!!

Carol's Accident

Sunday morning Carol came home and said I'm going to take the dog out for a ride.  Later that morning I heard her coming up the stairs crying. "That stupid dog". She said that Shadow was doing fine until he heard another dog barking in a house.  The dog jerked the leash and it sent Carol head over the handle bars of her bike.  She said she skidded across the sidewalk.  When she got home I saw that her head had a huge bump on her left eyebrow and her front teeth were chipped.  She had a bridge from a much earlier car accident.  Her right wrist was swelling up and I made the comment that it might be broken.  I told her I'd take her to the E.R. We got to the E.R. and she was in right away.  It actually seemed really fast and we didn't have to wait.  After her X-Ray the Doctor came back and said indeed you have a broken wrist and that we'll need to go to Bay Street Orthopedics to get a cast put on.  He put an a splint for her wrist and they cleaned up her wounds and we were out by 10:00AM.  She getting some sleep today and recovering. Looks like she'll have the next few days off. Which is nice because she's on vacation next weekend and we're going camping in Young State Park.

Grandma 91

Well Grandma didn't make it to her birthday but she did make it into all our hearts.  She has past away at our house Aug 1st,2010. She was the nicest little grandma ever.  She never complained (to me that is). She will be well missed.

Dad

This Summer my Dad had a very serious stroke.  Not that any Stroke isn't serious, but His was very close to the base of his brain. Any closer would have killed him.  We are very lucky to still have him around.  Dad has spent a little over 2 weeks in the hospital and A.R. (Acute Rehab) getting to the point where he can go home.  He has been told he has high cholesterol and will have to make a lot of changes in his diet. He lost a lot of mobility in his left arm and leg.  Currently he is home and working on improving his strength.  God Bless you Dad.

Mac & Cheese

Lizz started a job this summer watching kids, or as we like to call it "Baby Sitting". Which isn't really sitting on babies. She is saving her hard earned money to buy herself a brand spanking new Mac. Mack Book Pro 13", and of course has to have some added programs like MS Office. Her earnings are not to her satisfaction so she has also started looking at housekeeping positions  in hotels around the area.
Shadow
Yesterday Lizz and I walked Shadow down to the Water Front. Shadow did not behave very well as he wanted to go hunting instead of  walking.

New Bay Window or "How much is that Doggy in the Window"

The Sutton family is now the proud owners of a brand spanking new bay window. Well not exactly owners yet. We have 12 months same as cash from Home Depot. A brand new Anderson Window now sits where an ugly old single pane, heat not holding in the house, window. Now I know just in time for the winter, Not. But really folks, The old window we could not open and let in air from outside. So this will work out great for the summer time as we'll be able to add proper ventilation to the downstairs living room, now bedroom for my Daughter.

Summer Vacation!

This year summer vacation we acquired a camping spot on lake Huron in Millcreek Camping at Mackinaw. What a nice campground. There's a swimming pool, store, they have WiFi but at 2.50 hour or 5 a day didn't think I would use it that much to warrant that price. I like my internet free. We arrived Tuesday in the afternoon after much time spent getting ready and getting the vans electrical working with the pop-up camper. (light signals) Once settled in to our on the lake camp site we soaked in the warm sun and the quiet serenity. Our fire pit was down by the lake which was perfect. We bought two bundles of wood to burn which worked out very well.
The next day we went to Mackinac Island. Spend most of the day there, It was very very nice. MillCreek had a discount on the ferry tickets so it cost $96 to goto the island and $64 we spent getting into the fort. Of course we had to get fudge as Carol said it what you do when you goto the island. Lizzie called her friend every morning of the trip. She really likes her new phone.

All in all we had a very good time not withstanding an argument or two. But who counting. I had a very relaxing time away from work and away from my computer. I really didn't miss my notebook at all.

Until next time folks this is the Sutton family signing off.

Grandma in hospital.

Friday morning Carol decided to get Grandma in the hospital and that was a good thing as she was blocked up again.  They did X-Rays this weekend and said she is still blocked up but looking better.  She can not even eat until she gets it fixed, so she is on an IV.

2nd Dan

I recently received my second stripe on my belt. It is good to have my belt back. I had it all broken in and was starting to break in my other belt, the one with the spelling error. I really like my old belt much better. It is like an old friend.

Learning Japanese

I recently learned the basic hirgana and katagana. How did I do it you ask. Through flash cards. I bought some from whiterabbitpress.com through Amazon.com. They finally worked for me to learn those silly but beautiful characters.  I just ordered the first set for Kanji characters.  I expect these will go as well as the other flash cards.

Death Becomes Her

Today I write because my Wifes Mother died last Thursday.  Dawn Peters, age 65, collapsed and died on Thursday Feb 7th around 4:30pm.  Today we are getting the family together at Eagle Hall in Boyne City,Mi.  Dawn had three daughters,Carol(my wife),Sharon, and Jane.  Even though Carol didn't like having to take care of her Mom, because she was very difficult to handle sometimes, she did it anyway.  Carol is real upset of her lost and has many mixed emotions.  It's not easy losing someone especially a mother, even if they didn't get along well together.  I don't have any pictures of Dawn to put up.  If I had a picture I would like to put one up when she wasn't dealing with living with crones disease .  I would like to put a picture of her when she was more there mentally.  I never knew Dawn until after she had her strokes, three of them.  Strokes and the Crones disease does takes it toll on a person.  Now she doesn't have to worry about the pain and doesn't have to fake being someone important,  in heaven everyone is import and no one has any pains
